Stellar Blade Sequel and PC Port Are Being Considered, Shift Up Says

Shift Up says it’s looking to maximize the potential of the Stellar Blade IP with several future investments.

Shift Up’s first AAA console outing proved to be a successful one when Stellar Blade finally launched last month, and though action title hasn’t been out for too long itself, it seems the Korean studio is already thinking of other steps it can take to maximize not only Stellar Blade’s potential sales, but also the potential of the IP as a whole.

As caught by Gematsu, in a public offering filing recently published on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index, Shit Up has confirmed that in addition to upcoming DLC and collaboration content with other IP, the studio is also considering a PC port for the action title, in addition to a sequel.

“For Stellar Blade, we have plans to introduce new gameplay elements, including downloadable content releases, a PC version, and new [intellectual property] collaborations,” Shift Up said. “Meanwhile, the company’s global one-build approach allows for simultaneous global updates to ensure a consistent game experience for users and rapid deployment of content at a low cost.”

Later on in the filing, the developer reiterated, “There are many precedents for AAA titles to evolve into [intellectual property] franchises by extending their lifespan through a series of high-quality sequels and maintaining a long-term monetization base. As a result, we are exploring the possibility of a PC version of Stellar Blade and a sequel.”

Recently, Shift Up also seemingly teased an upcoming update for Stellar Blade, details on which are likely to be shared soon.

In addition to whatever it may have planned for Stellar Blade, Shift Up is currently also at work on a AAA sci-fi action RPG for PC, consoles, and mobile devices codenamed Project Witches.
