The 3D platforming action title will feature a variety of weapons, as well as movement options for players to experiment with.
Developer Evil Raptor and publisher Plaion have announced a new third-person action title, Akimbot. Slated for release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Akimbot will be out later this year. Currently, the game can be wishlisted on all three platforms. Check out the teaser trailer announcing Akimbot below.
Akimbot hopes to tap into classic 3D platforming games from the early PlayStation catalog. The game puts players into the shoes of outlaw robot Exe who, with his unexpected sidekick Shipset, set off to save the universe. Along the way, players will have to take on armies of robots as they explore alien worlds and control spaceships.
Since Akimbot is a 3D platformer, players will have quite a few traversal options, including dashes, a turbo-charged propulsion system, wall-running, and a double jump boost, among others.
As part of the game’s combat, players will be able to use and customise a variety of weapons. Mods for weapons can be unlocked by spending Botcoins earned throughout the adventure at special in-game shops. Players will also get the chance to control different vehicles, offering up an entirely new set of weapons and movesets.
