The remake is accompanied at the top end of the charts by a number of other Nintendo titles, including Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Princess Peach: Showtime!
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has been considered among the best games of its kind for years, and demand for a remake of the RPG has been high for quite long as well. It’s no surprise, then, that ahead of its Switch remake’s looming launch, the game is already attracting quite a bit of people, as evidenced by how it’s performing on Amazon’s sales charts.
For instance, it’s currently the best-selling game on Amazon US. Though the video games category does have other things placed above the remake in the charts (gift cards for digital stores, Fortnite, and Roblox), Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the highest-placed game on the charts.
Interestingly enough, a number of games following it are also first-party Nintendo titles, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (which launches in June), and Princess Peach: Showtime! (which is due out later this month).
On Amazon UK, meanwhile, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the second-highest placed game on the charts, behind only EA Sports FC 24. Clearly, there’s no shortage of excitement surrounding the RPG remake.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is due out on May 23 for the Nintendo Switch.
