A Watch Dogs Film Has Entered Development

The film will be directed by Mathieu Turi, with Christie LeBlanc writing an original screenplay and Sophie Wilde in talks to star.

There isnā€™t much clarity right now on when (or if) weā€™ll get a new Watch Dogs game, but Ubisoft has other plans for the franchise in the works. A report by Deadline has revealed that Ubisoft has partnered with New Regency to work on a film based on Watch Dogs.

Sophie Wilde, best known for her role in 2022 horror film Talk to Me, is in talks to star, while French director Mathieu Turi (whoā€™s also directing a movie based on A Plague Tale) is set to direct. Christie LeBlanc, known for her work on 2021ā€™s Netflix sci-fi thriller Oxygen, is writing an original screenplay for the movie.

The movie will be produced by Ubisoft Film and Televisionā€™s Margaret Boykin and New Regency Pictureā€™s Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann. Currently, thereā€™s no word on when itā€™s expected to start moving through the phases of production, and a release date is unknown.
