The costume will be added to the 2D sidescrolling platformer on February 15, and will be free for all players.
At Sony’s recent State of Play showcase, Sega grabbed the headlines with its announcement of Sonic X Shadow Generations, an expanded remaster of 2011’s Sonic Generations that will also add a new, standalone campaign focused on Shadow the Hedgehog. And while the game itself is still a few months away from launch, Shadow fans can get a taste of his presence much sooner.
Sega has announced that to celebrate Sonic X Shadow Generations’ announcements, it will be adding a Shadow costume to last year’s 2D sidescrolling platformer, Sonic Superstars. In a press release announcing the remaster, Sega confirmed that the costume, which arrives on February 15, will be free for all players and can be equipped in Story Mode.
Sonic Superstars is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Sonic X Shadow Generations will release for the same platforms sometime this Autumn, though a specific release date hasn’t yet been confirmed.
