The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is Free on the Epic Games Store

The remaster of Obsidian’s first-person sci-fi RPG is free until 8 AM PST, December 26th. It includes the base game and its story DLC.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is gone, and now Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is free to claim on the Epic Games Store. It’s available until 8 AM PST, December 26th, so if you have an Epic Games account, get it for free on PC now.

As a “remastered” version of The Outer Worlds, the Spacer’s Choice Edition includes the base game and its two DLC – Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon. It also offers improved performance and visuals, higher-resolution environments, more animations and gameplay features like an increased level cap. With the base game crossing five million players, it’s worth trying out for its branching story-based gameplay.

Unfortunately, when it first launched, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition was rife with performance issues and bugs, though various updates have improved things. It’s also available for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Check out our review here.

Obsidian is working on The Outer Worlds 2 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, though there’s no release window. Microsoft game content and studios president Matt Booty also said a decision “has not been made” on whether it comes to PlayStation.
