Journalist Jeff Grubb has claimed that based on what he’s heard, plenty of new properties will be unveiled at the upcoming event.
As exciting as it can be to see new games in popular and established franchises getting announced, nothing quite beats the unveiling of an exciting and completely new IP. Interestingly enough, we might have plenty of that to look forward to in the very near future.
The Game Awards are scheduled for December 7, and speaking recently on an episode of his Game Mess Decides podcast, journalist Jeff Grubb claimed that based on what he’s heard, the event is going to have “a lot of new IP and cool stuff from third parties.”
Grubb did not go into further details, but the few announcements that have already been either confirmed or teased for the show do seem to indicate the same, from Sega teasing a “new era” to Inscryption’s developer’s next game seemingly being teased as well. It’s been confirmed that a new game from Sharkmob and Level Infinite will also be announced.
Whether or not any major franchises will take the stage as well remains to be seen, though some potential teases were dropped recently about a new Death Stranding 2 trailer. Xbox has also teased “important announcements” for the show.
