Classic 8-bit and 16-bit games based on the Jurassic Park franchise are now available on modern platforms.
Universal is teaming up with Limited Run Games to bring classic Jurassic Park games to modern platforms. The release, titled Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection, has a trailer that you can check out below.
Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection features a host of titles adapting Jurassic Park from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras of gaming. Titles from platforms ranging from the NES and Sega Genesis to even handheld titles like Jurassic Park: The Chaos Continues on the Game Boy are part of the collection.
Alongside featuring a comprehensive collection of classic titles, Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection also includes more modern features, like save stats for each game, new in-game maps, and other quality-of-life fixes.
The collection was developed by making use of Limited Run Game’s Carbon Engine—an engine developed by Limited Run to make the development process of bringing older titles to modern platforms easier. The engine itself features support for legacy content from the NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear, and Master System.
The collection is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, and is priced at $29.99.
