Following the multiplayer shooter’s recent delay, Ubisoft has confirmed that it’s still due out this fiscal year.
If things had gone to plan, XDefiant would be out by now, though that, of course, has not ended up being the case. Originally set to launch this Summer, the game ran into behind-the-scenes certification issues as it approached its intended launch period, and though there were some rumours that it could launch in the latter stages of October, it wasn’t long afterward that Ubisoft officially announced a delay.
Currently, there’s no release date announced for the multiplayer shooter, but Ubisoft has confirmed that it will be releasing sometime before April next year. In its recent fiscal report, while listing the games it has lined up for release for the ongoing fiscal year (which runs up to March 31, 2024), the company confirmed that XDefiant is one of three free-to-play games that it intends to release during the ongoing fiscal year, including Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence.
Ubisoft recently also announced yet another delay for Skull and Bones, which is now targeting a Q1 2024 launch, while the company has also delayed an unspecified “large” game – likely Star Wars Outlaws – into the next fiscal year.
