From “tricky projectiles” to dives, Fatal Fury’s Mai Shiranui specializes in speed and keeping her opponents off-balance.

While Mai Shiranui joins the Street Fighter 6 roster on February 5th, there’s still plenty of time to learn her mechanics. Capcom has released a Character Guide video outlining her playstyle and all the strategies one could use. Check it out below.

Described as a quick character who “bedazzles” the opposition with “superb mobility and tricky projectiles,” Mai’s main attack is Kachousen. She throws out her paper fan as a projectile, allowing one to close the distance with Drive Rush. Though other projectiles can beat it, holding the button down turns it into a multi-hit attack (though you skip the process with the Overdrive version).

Hissatsu Shinobu Bachi is good for chasing, though it’s best used in a combo or from nowhere. Hishou Ryuuenjin offers a decent anti-air, while Musasabi no Mai is a strong diving attack. The latter’s OD version can transition into another attack.

After Mai arrives, only one DLC character will remain for the Year 2 Character Pass – Elena from Street Fighter 3: New Generation, launching this Spring. Stay tuned for updates on her release date in the coming months.
