The Ark: Survival Evolved remake was planned for late October for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, with no release date announced.
For a revamped version of an existing game, Studio Wildcard has been rather cagey with showcasing Ark: Survival Ascended. However, at the Xbox Partner Preview, it finally debuted the first-ever gameplay for the Unreal Engine 5 title.
The remake uses technologies like Lumen and Nanite to deliver a more visually pleasing and immersive experience. There’s fully dynamic global illumination, high-resolution meshes, gorgeous water and foliage (which reacts realistically to your movement), and much more. Even the physics have been revamped, with creatures now having realistic animations when knocked out or dying.
Ark: Survival Ascended doesn’t have a release date, but it’s “coming soon” with the original plan to launch this month for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It will be available as an early access title for $44.99 ($39.99 if you avail of the launch discount), with mods being fully cross-platform. Remasters of maps The Island and Scorched Earth will launch in December, so stay tuned for more details.
