The upcoming Steam release of Diablo 4 launches alongside the game’s second season, dubbed Season of Blood.
Diablo 4 global community manager Adam Fletcher has taken to social media platform X to announce that the upcoming Steam release of the action RPG will launch with support for the Steam Deck. Fletcher has stated that Diablo 4 will be Steam Deck Verified when it’s out on Steam on October 17.
It is worth noting that, even through the game’s original Battle.net release on PC, Diablo 4 was perfectly playable on the Steam Deck if players made use of some workarounds to get the launcher running on Linux. Having personally tested it out on the Steam Deck, I found the Steam Deck to be a perfectly reasonable platform to play Diablo 4.
Blizzard announced the Steam release of Diablo 4 earlier this month, revealing that the game would launch on the platform along with its second season, which has been titled Season of Blood.
The season is set to bring quite a bit of new content to the game, and will give players access to new vampiric powers to mid and match with their characters’ regular abilities and spells.
Diablo 4 is currently available on PC (through Battle.net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
