The kart racer’s penultimate DLC drop will add eight new courses and three returning courses to its ever-growing offerings.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has two more DLC drops left before it wraps up its post-post-launch offerings via the Booster Course Pass, and Nintendo has now confirmed when the penultimate DLC wave will arrive. Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass, which was previously confirmed to be arriving this summer, is set to go live on July 12.
Like previous waves, Wave 5 will add eight new courses to the game, of which seven are remastered versions of courses from previous instalments, with one being an entirely new addition. The new tracks are Mario Kart Wii’s Koopa Cape and Moonview Highway, Mario Kart Tour’s Vancouver Velocity, Athens Dash, and Los Angeles Laps, Mario Kart: Super Circuit’s Sunset Wilds, Mario Kart: Double Dash’s Daisy Cruiser, and Squeaky Clean Spring, which is a new track set in a bathroom.
Meanwhile, just as Wave 4 added Birdo as a playable character, Wave 5 will add three more returning characters to the game’s roster, with Kamek, Petey Piranha, and Wiggler.
Wave 6 of the Booster Course Pass, which is set to launch before the end of this year, will add the final eight courses of the Booster Course Pass’ 48 total additions. In addition, judging by previous reports, it will also add two additional characters.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available on the Nintendo Switch.
