Genshin Impact is Ending PS4 Support on April 8th, 2026

The action RPG will be unavailable on the platform due to “Limitations related to hardware performance and platform application size.”

miHoYo has announced the end of service for Genshin Impact on PS4. On September 10th, it will be removed from the PlayStation Store, and all in-game purchases will stop on February 25th, 2026. On April 8th, PS4 players won’t be able to log in.

If you’ve ever downloaded Genshin Impact in the past, it will still be available to access from your library until the end of service. Updates will also continue. You also have the option to bind their account to other login methods starting on December 17th, 2025, with a pop-up appearing in-game. Any items left unclaimed can also be obtained later by logging into the PS5 version.

As for the reason behind the end of PS4 support, miHoYo notes that it’s because of “Limitations related to hardware performance and platform application size.” Considering the ever-burgeoning size of the free-to-play action RPG, which has consistently added massive new regions and extensive questlines since launching in 2020, this isn’t surprising. Of course, the PlayStation 5 version will remain unaffected.

Aside from PS4 and PS5, Genshin Impact is also available for iOS, Android, and PC.
