Crimson Desert Will Debut a New Demo at Gamescom

Attendees at the upcoming August trade fair can experience the open-world action RPG before its release later this year.

With a release later this year, Pearl Abyss’s Crimson Desert is returning to Gamescom, this time with a new demo. According to a new press release, attendees can go hands-on from August 20th to 24th. Though it’s playable on a controller, the demo is running on PC.

Pearl Abyss Europe CEO Lybee Park said, “We’re thrilled to debut Crimson Desert’s latest public demo for the very first time here at Gamescom 2025. We can’t wait for fans to get hands-on with the experience we’ve crafted. From the immersive booth to the gameplay itself, we hope every visitor walks away feeling part of Crimson Desert —and excited for what’s to come at launch.”

Originally meant as a prequel to Black Desert Online, Crimson Desert evolved into a standalone within the same universe. It’s set on Pywel and focuses on Kliff, who leads a group of mercenaries known as the Greymanes. After a series of events, they split up, and he embarks on a journey to reunite with them.

Crimson Desert is in development for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and thus far, extensive gameplay has been showcased of its open world and boss fights.
