Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2 Announced, Kicks Off on June 8 in Los Angeles

The Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2 will visit 12 different cities from all over the world, from Los Angeles to Seoul and Taipei.

Kojima Productions has announced that, to celebrate the June 26 launch of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the studio will be visiting 12 different cities from all over the world as part of what it calls the Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2. The tour, starting on June 8 in Los Angeles, will go to cities like Sydney, Tokyo, Paris, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, and London. Check out the full list of cities, along with their dates, below.

“Fans around the world will be able to join a celebration of all things Death Stranding as part of a World Tour, with special guests and events at each stop,” wrote the studio in its announcement.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be coming exclusively to the PS5. The development on the game has largely been wrapped up, with Kojima Productions having confirmed earlier this month that the game had gone gold. This essentially means that the game has been sent to Sony in order to certify it for release on the PS5. In the meantime, the studio itself will likely begin working on post-launch updates that either bring more content tot he game or fix bugs.

In the mean time, quite a few details about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach have been revealed. More recently, director Hideo Kojima spoke in an interview about the decision to add a day/night cycle to the game. According to Kojima, the decision was made in order to better indicate the passage of time. “Gazing at the sky as the sun rises and sets is something that couldn’t be done in the first game, in part due to engine-related reasons, but it’s been put into the sequel,” he explained.

For players that might favour a specific in-game time of day to explore the world of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, however, there is an option to simply advance time. “We also included the option to go to bed and wait for the morning before leaving,” said Kojima. “This is something we’ve been sure to include because I imagine there will be players who don’t want to travel at night.”

When it comes to how well the upcoming title might perform on the PS5, a recent preview courtesy of Game Informer confirmed that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will include Quality and Performance modes. While Quality mode is described as being “fidelity focused”, Performance mode will try to run the game at a smooth frame rate of 60 FPS with a “relatively small graphical hit” and “frequent grass pop-in”.

Another preview for the game, courtesy of Eurogamer, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be quite a lengthy game. In the preview, the publication said that it had played the title for 30 hours, with Kojima Productions described as being around 40 percent of the main story. This could mean that the game might have a runtime of around 70 hours for its main story.
