FBC: Firebreak Won’t Have Battle Passes, Limited-Time Events, or Daily Check-Ins

Remedy wants to “ensure you never feel like you’re forced to play” and “make it as fast as possible” to get into missions.

FBC: Firebreak is a co-op shooter and will receive fresh content post-launch, like so many others. However, Remedy Entertainment has previously confirmed there won’t be any FOMO (fear-of-missing-out) elements. As outlined in various previews following its recent gameplay trailer, there won’t be any Battle Passes or daily check-ins.

Xbox Wire also noted that your friends won’t be locked out if “they don’t buy an expansion.” Furthermore, there won’t be any daily or limited-time events “to ensure you never feel like you’re forced to play.” Ultimately, the goal is to “make it as fast as possible” to start the game and play a mission.

While Remedy has outlined Jobs and Crisis Kits alongside Altered Augments, this preview notes that there seem to be “dozens” of perks to customize your character. Furthermore, a “lot” of post-launch content is planned (all of which will be free).

FBC: Firebreak launches this Summer for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It occurs six years after the events of Control, with the Federal Bureau of Control’s team of first responders tackling threats in The Oldest House. Though pricing is unknown, Remedy has confirmed it will be a “mid-priced” title.
