God of War 20th Anniversary Panel Won’t Have Any Announcements

Gallery Nucleus has confirmed another panel for March 22nd, but Sony Santa Monica dashes any hopes for potential new games.

The 20th anniversary of the God of War franchise is imminent. Gallery Nucleus is holding an exhibition to celebrate and recently announced a second panel and signing for March 22nd. Don’t get your hopes up for any potential announcements, though.

Sony Santa Monica said the panel would feature a “selection of the Greek and Norse cast” to reflect on the entire series. However, it added, “With such a stellar lineup and all the anticipation we’ve seen around the anniversary, we want to be clear that there are no planned announcements for this event.”

This might be disappointing for some fans expecting announcements regarding the rumored God of War trilogy remaster. Then, there are reports of the next title set in Greece with younger Kratos as the protagonist. While Sony could still tease the remaster before the event, it’s looking highly unlikely. And thus, the speculation continues.

On the bright side, there may be a proper PlayStation Showcase sometime this Summer. Even if God of War is absent, Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Marvel’s Wolverine could appear. As always, stay tuned for official announcements and details in the coming months.
