Nacon and Cyanide Studio’s stealthy goblin-fueled franchise returns this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Styx: Master of Shadows and its 2017 sequel Shards of Darkness may not be stealth masterpieces, but that they’re solid and enjoyable stealth games in their own right isn’t in any doubt. Soon, developer Cyanide Studio and publisher Nacon will be bringing the series back for a third outing.
The duo have announced Styx: Blades of Greed, which brings the eponymous stealthy goblin thief back into the limelight (or the shadows, as the case may be). Looking to get his hands on Quartz this time, Styx will once again find himself navigating the perils of a world caught in the middle of a war between elves, orcs, and humans.
On the gameplay front, Cyanide is promising an emphasis on “freedom and creativity”, a focus on vertical environments, new tools and powers to master, and more. Meanwhile, on the narrative front, the studio also confirms that Blades of Greed will cover the creation of the mercenary group Black Hand. For those unaware, that’s a mercenary group featured in Of Orcs and Men, Cynaide’s fantasy action RPG series that Styx shares its universe with.
Styx: Blades of Greed will launch this Fall for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
