Overwatch 2 Season 15 Starts February 18th, Adds Perks and Brings Back Loot Boxes

Heroes will soon be able to unlock Minor and Major Perks throughout a match, significantly altering their abilities and playstyles.

Blizzard Entertainment promised some “groundbreaking” changes for hero shooter Overwatch 2, and they’re coming very soon. Season 15: Honor and Glory goes live on February 18th alongside a new Premium Battle Pass with a new Mythic skin. Check it out below.

The biggest change is the addition of Perks in Quick Play and Competitive, which allow players to unlock Minor and Major deviations for a hero’s abilities. For example, Orisa can turn the Javelin into a charged projectile with increased knockback. Pharah’s Concussive Shot will transform into a vacuum to draw in multiple enemies.

There will also be a rank reset, Galactic Weapons as rewards, the GOATS meta in Overwatch Classic, and new Legendary Skins. Furthermore, Loot Boxes (last seen in Overwatch 1) return with more gacha-like mechanics, including disclosed odds for items and even guaranteed rarities after opening a certain number of boxes.

Of course, there’s much more coming to Overwatch 2 in the future, so stay tuned for more details.
