The shooter’s announcement for the upcoming console is being withheld by Nintendo, a prominent leaker has claimed.

DOOM: The Dark Ages stole the show with its recent gameplay blowout at the Xbox Developer_Direct. Bethesda and Microsoft have confirmed a May release, so we don’t have to wait too long to get our hands on it. The shooter will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, though those seemingly aren’t the only platforms it’s in development for.

Prominent Xbox leaker extas1s has claimed in a recently uploaded video that DOOM: The Dark Ages is also in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal both eventually arrived for the Nintendo Switch, so this shouldn’t come as a massive surprise. However, it remains to be seen exactly when The Dark Ages will release for the upcoming console.

As per the leaker, Bethesda and Microsoft haven’t yet announced the game for the Switch 2 because, as you may have guessed, Nintendo is holding it back. All third-party titles coming to the platform are allegedly not allowed to officially enter the limelight. Whether that means we can expect a DOOM announcement at the Switch 2 Direct in April is the big question now.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on May 15.
