Mass Effect TV Series is Officially in Development at Amazon

Daniel Casey, best known for F9: The Fast Saga, will serve as the show’s writer and executive producer, it has been announced.

BioWare itself hasn’t done an awful lot to placate Mass Effect fans on N7 Day (just as the studio said), but it looks like some significant news has emerged nonetheless. Back in 2021, it was reported that Amazon was in discussions regarding a TV show based on Mass Effect, and that project, it sems, is now officially moving forward.

As reported by Variety, a Mass Effect series is now officially in development at Amazon MGM Studios. Daniel Casey – who is best know as the writer for F9: The Fast Saga (a.k.a. Fast and Furious 9) – will serve as the show’s writer and executive producer, and will be joined by fellow executive producers in the form of Karim Zreik (Daredevil, Jessica Jones) of the Cedar Tree Productions Banner, Ari Arad (Uncharted, Spider-Man, Spider-Verse), and BioWare’s Michael Gamble. Gamble is also the Project Director on the next Mass Effect game.

Details on the show itself, what elements of the games it will cover, or who we can expect it to feature in its cast are currently unknown, as you’d expect, but after years of suggestions that a Mass Effect adaptation could happen, it looks like it’s now finally officially been given the green light, so hopefully it won’t be long before we get more concrete details.
