Dead Island 2 is Out Now on Consoles and PC

The long-awaited zombie slasher is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4 and PC after being announced in 2014.

Nearly a decade after its initial announcement, Deep Silver’s Dead Island 2 is finally out on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Developed by Dambuster Studios, it takes place in Los Angeles, quarantined due to a new undead outbreak. As one of six Slayers, you must survive and try to escape the madness. Check out the launch trailer here.

Dead Island 2 isn’t open-world like the first game. Its levels are linear, as you hack and slash zombies, find new weapons, modify them and slay more zombies. There are side quests to discover, collectibles to collect, and Apex Zombies to conquer, but that’s the entire gameplay loop.

Fortunately, the new FLESH system allows for some incredibly visceral feedback. Sledgehammers crush zombie limbs and skulls, blades dismember limbs, and more. Also, after being revealed as immune to the virus, the player can use the new Fury Mode to unleash havoc.
