The wait for Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals has been a tad longer than many had expected, but each time Night School Studio has shown more of its horror adventure sequel, the excitement surrounding it has only grown. At Nintendo’s recent Indie World Showcase, we got another look at the game with a new trailer, which also confirmed its release date.

True to recent leaks, Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals will launch on July 12. Set five years after the events of the first game, it will star environmental researcher Riley Poverly as protagonist, as she travels back to her hometown to investigate the mysterious cause of recent electromagnetic waves, while having to contend with supernatural events and a cult that wants to open a rift between realities and timelines.

The game will, like its predecessor, allow players to make choices that will impact how the story plays out, while some new mechanics will also be introduced, including a new walkie talkie system. Check out the trailer below for more details.

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals will be available on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
