Co-op Operations currently pair players of the same class together, leading to stalled lobbies as they wait for the other to switch.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has received a fair amount of critical acclaim, punctuated by over 134,000 concurrent Steam players in early access. The launch hasn’t been without issues, ranging from crashes and connectivity problems to infinite loading screens, which Focus Entertainment apologized for and committed to resolving.
However, there’s another issue affecting Operations: Choosing a class that someone else wants to play. The co-op mode doesn’t allow more than one player per class, and the mission won’t start until everyone has chosen. As a result, some players hang around in a lobby, waiting for the other to switch off their desired class.
Thankfully, Saber Interactive is aware of the issue, with creative director Oliver Hollis-Leick tweeting that all feedback is being “absorbed by the team.” “The class matching is definitely one we are going to deal with. Thank you for your patience while we get this stuff resolved.” The solution could be prioritizing matchmaking with other classes, but we’ll have to wait and see.
