Sony has announced a 9-minute presentation for the PS5, amidst reports that the company is set to officially unveil the PS5 Pro.
Sony has announced a PlayStation 5 technical presentation for tomorrow, September 10. Kicking off at 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET / 4:00 PM BST, the presentation will be roughly nine minutes long, and will be hosted by Mark Cerny, the PS5’s lead architect. Sony says the presentation will “focus on PS5 and innovations in gaming technology.”
Further details aren’t provided, but it’s likely that Sony is set to announce the PS5 Pro. A more powerful mid-gen refresh of the PlayStation 5 has been in the rumour mill for some time now, with recent leaks claiming that it would be unveiled in September, ahead of a release sometime this Fall. Sony itself also recently seemed to tease a PS5 Pro announcement.
As per previous reports, the PS5 Pro will come with a detachable disc drive, along with boasting 45 percent faster rendering, a 2-4x improvement in ray tracing, a 33.5 teraflops GPU, and a new proprietary supersampling tech called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).
