As players level up, they receive Skill Points to unlock new traits, passives, abilities, and Ultimates in tune with specific builds.
BioWare is back with more deep dives into Dragon Age: The Veilguard, this time outlining progression. Its first part covers the Skill Tree while showcasing gameplay for the Rogue’s Duelist (including the admittedly stylish “Murder of Crows” Ultimate). Check it out below.
When completing quests, slaying enemies, collecting codexes, and building bonds with the Veilguard, Rook will earn XP. Upon leveling up (with 50 being the max level), players receive Skill Points, which can be spent in the Skill Tree to unlock new abilities, passives, traits, and Ultimates.
Passives can range from increased elemental damage to major upgrades for existing abilities. While nodes are “designed to harmonize into cohesive builds,” players can refund their Skill Points for free to pursue other paths. It’s also worth noting that Factions do not restrict your choice of Specializations. Even if Rook is a Grey Warden, they can still become a Veil Ranger or Duelist, even if Champion is more appropriately themed.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
