Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Has a Compass, Quick-Dial, and Other Quality-of-Life Features

You can also instantly add items to the quick-access bar when picking them up instead of going into your backpack every time.

Much has been said about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s new Battle Damage system, control styles, and revamped visuals. However, it also sports numerous quality-of-life changes and improvements.

As outlined in IGN’s recent preview, there’s a new Quick-Dial mechanic for accessing the codec. Pressing down on the D-Pad brings up the option to save or call specific characters (as seen above). Pressing up also grants access to a menu for quickly changing camouflage, while left and right will cycle through the equipment.

But that’s not all, as PushSquare revealed the remake features a prompt for adding a new item or weapon to your quick-access bar. It’s a big step up from continuously going into your Backpack and setting things up. There’s even a Compass that points towards your next objective.

There is a trade-off, though, as you have to equip it as an item. If you don’t have an anti-personnel sensor out at the time, it may result in an unwanted enemy encounter.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with a launch date to be announced later this year.
