Fate/EXTRA Record Receives New Gameplay Trailer, Launches in 2025 for PS4, PS5, PC, and Switch

The remake sports improved visuals, “refreshed character graphics”, an expanded scenario, animated character portraits, and more.

During FGO Fes. 2024, Type-Moon revealed a new gameplay trailer for Fate/EXTRA Record, its remake of the PSP dungeon crawler. It also confirmed a launch in 2025 for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Check out the latest action below, from the appearance of favorite servants to the revamped visuals.

Unlike the Fate/stay night or Fate/Grand Order, Fate/EXTRA Record is set in a virtual world on the moon. Multiple hackers worldwide transform into Spiritrons, embodying Masters in a new Grail War, and receive the support of various classes of Servants. These include heroes like Saber (Nero Claudius), Caster (Tamamo no Mae), Archer (Emiya Shirou), and more.

The official website promises improved visuals (including “refreshed character graphics”) and an expanded scenario. There are even additional visual flourishes, like animated character portraits during conversations. The deck-building-based combat is still intact, but there’s now detailed art for each card.
