Raven Software leads the campaign, which sees the team going rogue after discovering a shadowy presence has infiltrated the US government.
With the Xbox Games Showcase over, Treyarch and Raven Software are running down Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in its dedicated Direct. As detailed on the Call of Duty blog, the campaign is led by Raven Software, partnered with Treyarch, and takes place after Black Ops Cold War.
Interestingly, it ties into the flashbacks from Black Ops 2, with a new protagonist, Troy Marshall. Frank Woods is banged up while CIA handler Jane Harrow joins the team. After a botched operation, the team goes rogue and realizes that a shadowy power has infiltrated the US government. By recruiting new team members, from tech wizard Felix Neumann and assassin Sevati Dumas, they must also deal with former ally Russell Adler.
Black Ops 6 promises more mission variety, including a casino and a palace in the deserts of Iraq. You can choose various methods, from bartering and manipulation to a guns-blazing approach, with enemies adapting. You can also lockpick, hack and solve puzzles. Equipment like the RC-XD returns alongside the Tranquilizer Trap, Adrenaline Stim for takedowns, Homing Knife and Disruptor.
There’s also a new base, the Manor, where players can discover new secrets, receive mission briefings and even engage in target practice. The Evidence Board is back, with players able to analyze evidence and learn more before taking their next step.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Xbox One.
