Intelligent Systems’ classic launches on May 23rd for Nintendo Switch and sees Mario venturing to Rogueport to collect the Crystal Stars.
Nintendo’s remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is out this week on Nintendo Switch, bringing the 2004 Nintendo GameCube classic to the modern era. Check out the launch trailer below, which sees a narrator becoming increasingly befuddled at Mario’s capabilities.
Set in Rogueport, the story sees Mario looking to rescue Princess Peach after the latter finds a map leading to hidden treasure. The quest involves locating seven Crystal Stars, and players will meet all kinds of allies like Goombella, Koops, Vivian and more to aid in his journey. Combat is turn-based and involves timed button presses for attacking and defending.
Players can also equip Badges to enhance their abilities or learn new skills, unleash powerful attacks thanks to the Crystal Stars and even impress the audience enough to receive items. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door arrives on May 23rd for Nintendo Switch.
