The pirate-focused action adventure supports 4K/60 FPS and 1080p/120 FPS, PlayStation-only servers and more on the console.
Rare’s live-service action-adventure title Sea of Thieves is available now for PS5 players. First available on Xbox One and PC in March 2018 before receiving an Xbox Series X/S update, it’s the first game from the developer to release on a PlayStation platform. Check out the launch trailer below.
Despite a controversial launch back in the day, Sea of Thieves has improved by leaps and bounds over the years. As a fresh pirate, players customize their look from a character randomizer, choose a ship and then sail the high seas in search of adventure. They can take on tasks for various Trading Companies, from transporting cargo and materials to hunting down skeleton crews and looting other players.
Of course, there are also narrative-focused Tall Tales to pursue, including The Legend of Monkey Island, based on Lucasfilm Games’ acclaimed adventure series. On PS5, Sea of Thieves runs at 4K/60 FPS and 1080p/120 FPS with PlayStation-only servers, progress transfer and even PlayStation Portal support.
