Season 3 will reportedly be a “big moment for the game” and “take us through Halloween and Black Friday,” per insider Miller Ross.
Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is out in a few weeks, with hands-on impressions and new gameplay recently going live. While its post-launch plans haven’t been detailed, the looter shooter will seemingly take a seasonal approach and even return to some familiar locations. Mild spoilers follow for Batman: Arkham Knight and potential new Suicide Squad characters, so be warned.
According to insider Miller Ross (who derived several details from the closed alpha), Season 3 will feature lots of “Arkham nostalgia” with players traveling to Gotham City. “It’ll be a big moment for the game, post-launch. Then they follow that up with Deathstroke in Season 4. It’s a strong pitch.” Ross notes that the season will “take us through Halloween and Black Friday. Big sales window.”
When asked if a thought-to-be-decreased character thought will return in the season, he replies, “Not the character you’re thinking. But at that point, it’ll be clear what’s up, and anticipation for that character should be rising. Probably lots of hints and teases.”
Of course, if Season 3 debuts later this year, Rocksteady could shift some plans around. Nevertheless, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is part of the Arkham-verse, so a trip to Gotham City isn’t too far-fetched. The real question is how the current story resolves itself to incorporate it.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on February 2nd for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
