Super Mario RPG’s Progression Blocking Paratroopa Bug Will be Patched in December

Until the patch arrives, Nintendo has offered a workaround for players to avoid progress from being blocked.

The Super Mario RPG remake released last week to acclaim from critics and players alike, though in the wake of its release, several players have encountered a specific bug that can potentially block progress. Nintendo has now issued an acknowledgement of the bug, offered a workaround, and confirmed that it’s working on a patch.

The bug in question in Land’s End level, where, after the Paratroopa event in Monstro Town, the Paratroopas don’t appear, blocking further progress. Nintendo says if you encounter this bug, you can circumvent it by going to Mushroom Kingdom and then returning to Land’s End, after which the Paratroopas should appear again as intended.

Meanwhile, the company has also confirmed that it will be releasing a patch for the game sometime in December to address the bug, though an exact release date for the patch hasn’t been confirmed.

Super Mario RPG is available on the Nintendo Switch.
