Hideo Kojima has continued teasing the next trailer for Death Stranding 2, announcing that this one is currently in the main sound mixing stage.
Hideo Kojima’s teases about a new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach have been continuing, with his latest post on social media going as far as showing us the first few seconds of a trailer. Check it out below.
The few seconds of the trailer, shown largely in greyscale, feature Fragile and protagonist Sam Porter are having a conversation about meeting someone face to face for the first time. Kojima has posted that the trailer is currently in the main sound mixing stage.
Kojima had also teased the trailer earlier this month, talking about editing it. The tease also included pictures of a Vitamin B2 drink with the label clearly featuring the letters “BB”.
While he works on the new trailer, Kojima has also been announcing various actors having completed their parts for Death Stranding 2. Back in January, for instance, Kojima thanked Shioli Kutsuna for wrapping up her part, which involved 3D scanning and performance capture, as well as English ADR and Japanese voice recording.
Kojima has also previously revealed that Kikuko Inoue and Yasuyuki Kase had also wrapped up their parts, thanking them with their own bouquets.
Joining Kutsuna, Kase and Inoue are Japanese actors like Satoshi Mikami, Nana Mizuki, Kenjiro Tsuda, Mutsiru Miyamoto, Shion Wakayama and Tomokazu Sugita. The actors will play a variety of different characters, ranging from offering the Japanese voices for certain characters like Tsuda voicing Sam Porter Bridges, to completely new characters.
When it comes to the game itself, Kojima has previously announced that the studio had entered the crunch phase of development for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. He spoke about the studio going all out, referring to the phase as the most demanding period of game development.
While Kojima hasn’t yet announced the release date for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, it is possible that this new trailer might give us at least a release window for the highly-anticipated title, if not an outright release date. The trailer itself seems to be on schedule to be showcased during the rumoured PlayStation State of Play later this week.
Death Stranding 2 will pick things up where the first game left off, and will likely explore the implications of its predecessor’s events. For those that might not have played Death Stranding, 2 will feature a recap that will allow them to get caught up with the bigger plot points of the story.
