Though it can’t yet be downloaded, a demo for the action RPG has appeared on the PlayStation Store ahead of its full release later this month.
We’ve known since November last year that Square Enix will be releasing a demo of Final Fantasy 16 before its launch, and with the action RPG now less than a month away from release, it shouldn’t be too long before the demo is available. In fact, that might end up happening even sooner than some may have anticipated.
As spotted by users on Reddit, a listing for a demo of Final Fantasy 16 has appeared on the PlayStation Store. Though it doesn’t yet allow downloads, it does seem to indicate that an official announcement and release might not be too far off.
Earlier this year, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 16’s demo would become available roughly a couple of weeks before the game’s launch, so it’s likely that it releases in the coming days. It’s also been confirmed that the demo will be roughly a couple of hours long, and that it will allow players to carry over their progress into the full game.
Final Fantasy 16 is set to launch for PS5 later this month, on June 22. Following its release, Square Enix will begin working on a PC version, while post-launch DLC might also be considered depending on the game’s reception.
