Battle a fungal outbreak as a crew of robots across various missions. A free demo is also live with four guns and numerous upgrades.
Devolver Digital has been busy over the past month, announcing Enter the Gungeon 2 and providing an update on the long-in-development Katana Zero DLC. It recently announced another new project – a co-op first-person shooter called Mycopunk. Launching this year for PC, a demo is currently live with multiplayer support.
Developed by Pigeons at Play, the story revolves around the New Atlas Hazard Crew, a group of robots who must combat a fungal outbreak on a global scale. Players embark on missions with various sci-fi weaponry, which can be modified using a grid system. Defeating the outbreak is easier said than done, especially since enemies can pick up the remains of others.
With an animated aesthetic, Roachard Cox providing assistance (and a hub to hang with teammates between missions), vehicles, and friendly fire, Mycopunk is one of the more unorthodox co-op shooters this year. The demo offers four weapons and hundreds of upgrades with “way more” promised for the game. Stay tuned for a release date in the coming months.
