WayForward’s remakes of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising offer revamped visuals, new modes and QoL features.
After its fair share of delays, Nintendo’s Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is now available worldwide on Nintendo Switch. As remakes of the first two games in the classic strategy series, it’s developed by WayForward Technologies and offers overhauled visuals. Check out the launch trailer below.
The gameplay is a mix of unit-building, base capture and turn-based tactics. There are multiple Commanding Officers with unique skills and play styles that can turn the tide. New features in the remakes include fast-forwarding through conversations and animations, the ability to replay the last turn, and the War Room for undertaking challenges and earning ranks.
Online and local multiplayer is also supported. There’s also an editor for creating maps, and you can finally share and download them online.
