Bloober Team’s Mateusz Lenart also confirms it will take over 20 hours if you “like to spend your time searching for everything.”
Bloober Team retains the essence of Konami’s classic survival horror in its remake of Silent Hill 2. However, it’s also adding to it in many new ways, from additional buildings to explore to difficulty settings for puzzles and combat. Perhaps most intriguing is that it will be a longer experience.
Creative director and lead designer Mateusz Lenart revealed on Twitter that a first playthrough requires 16 to 18 hours on average. Of course, if you “like to spend your time searching for everything that we put into the game and things we’ve hidden for you,” then it will take over 20 hours.
That doesn’t include New Game Plus and unlocking the different endings (with separate emojis confirming the inclusion of the UFO and Dog joke endings). HowLongToBeat lists the original Silent Hill 2 as requiring eight hours to complete the main story, with a completionist playthrough requiring 15 hours on average. Suffice it to say that the remake is handily beating it in playtime.
Silent Hill 2 remake launches on October 8th for PS5 and PC.
