As recently teased, Devolver Digital has announced a new game. Developed by Skeleton Crew Studio of Olija fame, the game is titled Forestrike, and is described as a tactical kung fu title.
Touting a gorgeous retro-inspired pixel-art aesthetic, Forestrike is a sidescrolling action title that will put players in the shoes of Yu, a martial artist who embarks on a mission to free the Emperor from the corrupting influence of an evil admiral.
The game’s central mechanic will be Foresight, which will allow you to play endlessly play out fights in Yu’s head without consequences before you start the actual fights. Through trial and error, you’ll come up with the perfect plan for the fight ahead, and then watch it in execution.
Forestrike will also feature a roguelike structure, progression and customization mechanics that will let players choose between a variety of different movesets with unique strengths and attributes, and more. Check out its reveal trailer below.
Forestrike is in development for PC and Nintendo Switch. A release date hasn’t yet been announced.
