Tokyo Xanadu New Project Announced by Falcom, First Teaser Released

The sequel features an all-new setting with systems built from the ground up, but a release date and platforms are currently unknown.

The Legend of Heroes and Ys developer Falcom has announced a follow-up to its 2015 action Tokyo Xanadu. Tokyo Xanadu New Project, which likely isn’t the final name, doesn’t have a release date or platforms. However, the first teaser is available.

The title is set in Kyoto and follows “juveniles” who venture through the realm of Xanadu. Though it’s in the same world as the previous game, the setting is all-new. Also, if there was any confusion, this is a brand-new title, and its game systems have been developed from the ground up.

No further details were provided, but it’s likely using Falcom’s new engine that debuted with The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki (launching this July worldwide as Trails through Daybreak). Stay tuned for more updates in the future. As for the original Tokyo Xanadu, it’s available for PlayStation Vita, PS4 and PC, with a Nintendo Switch version launching in June.
